Never too tired for sexercise! Women admit they have sex even when exhausted 'to burn calories'

Women are more inclined to have sex after a long day if they think it will help them lose weight, a survey has revealed.
A mixture of the credit crunch and expensive gym memberships are blamed for the passion killing statistic, which has seen women increasingly  look to sex as a cheap way to exercise.
Research shows 76 per cent of women are more inclined to weave the nocturnal workout into their routines if they think they will burn calories.

Sexercise fans: Kim Cattrall and Melanie B say having sex is a great way lose weight
And almost two thirds of women who do own gym memberships said they were happier to carry out such activities as having sex and even doing the vacuuming if they thought it would burn as many calories as a traditional workout.

A half-hour session of lovemaking will burn about 150 to 250 calories, and even up to 350 calories, depending on just how active you are, says Kerry McCloskey in her book, ‘The Ultimate Sex Diet.’
Simply kissing for an hour burns over 200 calories - equivalent to three HobNob biscuits.

HOW LONG IT TAKES TO BURN 200 CALORIES

  • Cleaning: 48 minutes
  • Window shopping: 63 minutes
  • Cooking: 128 minutes
  • Riding on the Tube: 58 minute
  • Belly laughing: 75 minutes
  • Kissing: 50 minutes
Of course, celebrities have been talking about the concept of sexercise for years, and Sex and The City Actress Kim Cattrall counts having sex as one of her top diet tips, along with Pilates and her personal trainer.
And fitness fanatic Mel B credits sexercise with helping her to shed the pounds after giving birth down to sexercise.
Even the Government have got in on the action.
According to the NHS Direct website, sexercise can lower the risk of heart attacks and help people live longer.
Doctors claim endorphins released during orgasm stimulate immune system cells, which also helps target illnesses like cancer, as well as wrinkles, it states.
Darren Linnell, creator of Aspire drinks who commissioned the survey, said: ‘We are burning calories constantly as we go about our day to day business.
'It’s about being aware of the small things we can do to give us that extra boost.’
